Lowdown: Full time Youth & Community worker since 1980. Management Board member 1996-2005. Project Manager since 2005. Time is split working 50/50 between Leveltwo and Suffolk County Council. Prior to all this spent a life on the ocean wave in the Royal Navy.

Name: Antony (Ant) Cartwright

Role: Youth Work Manager
Lowdown: Previous career paths include actor, cafe manager and Italian ice-cream man! Voluntary youth & children’s work experience in church settings, theatre in education and presenting children’s shows. Degree in Performing Arts and a DipHe. Informal Education (JNC Youth & Community Studies). Working as deputy manager at Leveltwo for over 4 years.
Ask me about: Programme development, child protection issues, Youth Work practice, staff team support, mentoring initiatives, after schools and holiday provision, inter agency working, health related projects, youth participation, publicity and promotion.

Name: Matthew (Matt) Girling

Role: Senior Youth Worker
Lowdown: Grew up in Norwich. Left pharmaceutical job to train for Diploma in Youth Work and Ministry (JNC Certificate). Has worked at Leveltwo since July 2005. Lead worker for detached work (going out of the centre and meeting young people around the town) and Time for You (supporting those not in education or employment aged 16-19).
Ask me about: Youth employment, Housing or homelessness, provision for older teens, Health and Safety.
Likes: Playing guitar, Table tennis and Cooking

Role: (Part-time) Youth Worker
Lowdown: Been at Leveltwo for just over two years, starting off as a volunteer; now assisting leading workers on sessions. Recently become locally qualified and is hoping to study for a JNC qualification in the near future.

Name: Wendy O’Connor

Role: (part time) Administration/ Young Parents Assistant
Lowdown: Started working for Leveltwo in 2001 when the project first started. Was originally working at Community Education as a Clerical Assistant working with Mike Peck. Prior to this, worked for ten years as Personal Secretary at HM Customs & Excise. Set up the young parents support group and has now moved onto the Assistant Co-ordinator role.
Ask me about: Administration support inc. spreadsheets, forms, staff movements, phone numbers, stationary; and Mums & Tums.
Likes: Helping at Brownies, Going to see shows and Bargain hunting.

Name: Harry Stewart
Role: Volunteer/youth rep
Lowdown: In year 11 at Orwell and i am the community leader for Felix community (whoo!). I like drama. I design some leveltwo poster and am helping with the website. i sit on loads of forums, panels etc. The best one by far is SCTV. I have been at leveltwo since June 2005 and started voluteering in September 2005

Dislikes: Algebra, Coffee, People who are annoying.
Name: Emma Howard
Role: Volunteer
Lowdown: Grew up mostly in Felixstowe with nothing to do. Was invited up to Leveltwo when a young person and found lots of support. Decided to give something back by volunteering to help out with general things, such as answering the door, and making hot cups of tea.
Likes: Writing, being hyper, and PlayStation 3.
Dislikes: Bad spelling, Chinese cabbage and small cars with racing stripes.
Name: Kiomi Ashby
Role: Volunteer
Lowdown: At the moment i am studying Everyday Life Skills at Suffolk College in Ipswich. I have been coming to leveltwo over 2 years. I work at leveltwo every other Friday and Saturday. I like meeting new people and serving young people food at the bar.
Likes: Betty Boop, Eastenders and Indian food.
Dislikes: Mushrooms, Politics and Snakes.

Name: Emma K. Bennett

Role: Youth Worker
Lowdown: Started at Leveltwo in 2002 as a volunteer; also volunteered for 4YP in Ipswich, YFC in Aylesbury and as a camp councillor in Florida. Became full-time in Leveltwo in 2005. BA American Studies and Sociology and JNC- Foundation degree in “Working with young people”. Lead Worker responsibilities.

Likes: Dancing for fun, Maps, Hard rain & thunderstorms.
Dislikes: Loosing, Junk mail and Fondant icing.
Name: Kirsty-Anne Coldwell
Role: Young Parents Project Co-ordinator
Lowdown: Started volunteering at Leveltwo in September 2005, leading to employment in 2006 in the Young Parents Project. Also employed by the 2 Children Centres in Felixstowe to develop service provision for teenage and young parents in the Felixstowe cluster. Youth Worker JNC and BA (hons) Degree in Youth and Community Work and Applied Theology.
Ask me about: Mums & Tums, Children’s Centre and other agencies supporting the young parents project.
Likes: Love doing karaoke, going out for coffee with friends and shopping (for shoes mainly).

Role: Personal Advisor for Suffolk Youth and Connexions
Lowdown: Eighteen years in careers and Connexions and been at Leveltwo for a number of years. Degree and 2 Diplomas relating to the job.
Ask me about: Advice, support and information for 13-19yr olds; careers and options after Year 11 and other support for money, housing and personal issues.
Likes: Badminton, reading and watching films.
Dislikes: The colour pink, fizzy drinks and computers that don’t work.

Role: Recruitment Advisor for Suffolk Youth & Connexions
Lowdown: I work in Ipswich and Felixstowe, at Leveltwo and Job Centre Plus. Also visits Deben and Orwell High Schools to speak with young people about work, training and education. Provide information to young people and their families on issues that affect their lives, and refer to other agencies or colleagues where appropriate.
Ask me about: Careers and training; and family issues.
Likes: Walking my two dogs, having fun with my family and eating out.
Dislikes: Cooking, Country and Western, cycling on paths.

Leveltwo is A project that welcomes young people, (of high school age 11-19) living in Felixstowe and surrounding villages into an environment which enables them to build a better, brighter, future.
The Project is open every weekday, and on Saturday afternoons during term time, as well as a varied programme of activities during school holiday periods.
