Name: Antony (Ant) Cartwright

Role: Youth Work Manager

Lowdown: Previous career paths include actor, cafe manager and Italian ice-cream man! Voluntary youth & children’s work experience in church settings, theatre in education and presenting children’s shows. Degree in Performing Arts and a DipHe. Informal Education (JNC Youth & Community Studies). Working at Leveltwo for over 6 years.

Likes: Doctor Who, lounging with a latte and colour co-ordinating.

Dislikes: Seafood, football strips and labels that begin with Dis…

Name: Matthew (Matt) Girling

Role: Senior Youth Worker

Lowdown: Grew up in Norwich. Left pharmaceutical job to train for Diploma in Youth Work and Ministry (JNC Certificate). Has responsibilities for youth clubs, mentoring and Dof E. Has worked at Leveltwo since July 2005.

Likes: Playing guitar, Table tennis and Cooking

Dislikes: Litter, Pens that don’t work and Fishy fish.

 

Name: Sean Bennett

Role: Youth Worker

Lowdown: Started off as a volunteer and a locally qualified youth worker.  Responsibilities include friday night youth club, mentoring and working with young people not in employment, education or training.

Likes: Poetry, Frosty mornings and Weird stuff.

Dislikes: The colour grey, Thunderstorms and Roller coasters.

Name: Wendy O’Connor

Role:  Administrator

Lowdown: Started working for Leveltwo in 2001 when the project first started. Was originally working at Community Education as a Clerical Assistant working with Mike Peck. Prior to this, worked for ten years as Personal Secretary at HM Customs & Excise. Set up the young parents support group and has now moved onto the Assistant Co-ordinator role.

Likes: Helping at Brownies, Going to see shows and Bargain hunting.

Dislikes: Unhelpful contractors, Nuts and Spiders.

Name: Emma K. Bennett

Role: Youth Worker

Lowdown: Started at Leveltwo in 2002 as a volunteer; also volunteered for 4YP in Ipswich, YFC in Aylesbury and as a camp councillor in Florida. Became full-time in Leveltwo in 2005. BA American Studies and Sociology and JNC- Foundation degree in “Working with young people”. Youth work responsibilities include mentoring & health info cafes.

Likes: Dancing for fun, Maps, Hard rain & thunderstorms.

Dislikes: Loosing, Junk mail and Fondant icing.

Name: Kirsty-Anne Coldwell

Role: Youth worker

Lowdown: Started volunteering at Leveltwo in September 2005, leading to employment in 2006 in the Young Parents Project. Has worked in Children Centres in Felixstowe to develop service provision for teenage and young parents. Youth Worker JNC and BA (hons) Degree in Youth and Community Work and Applied Theology. Responsibilities include supporting Dance sessions and friday night Youth Club.

Likes: Love doing karaoke, going out for coffee with friends and shopping (for shoes mainly).

Dislikes: Noisy eaters, Horror movies and Spiders.

Sue Maguire - Mentor

Name: Kiomi Ashby

Role: Volunteer

Lowdown:   Enjoys assisting on tuesday and friday youth clubs.  I like meeting new people and serving young people food at the bar.

Likes: Betty Boop, Eastenders and Indian food.

Dislikes: Mushrooms, Politics and Snakes.

Welcome to Level Two

Leveltwo is A project that welcomes young people, (of high school age 11-19) living in Felixstowe and surrounding villages into an environment which enables them to build a better, brighter, future.

The Project is open every weekday, and on Saturday afternoons during term time, as well as a varied programme of activities during school holiday periods.
